Kerby Bentley (Head Coach):
After four years as one of the Knights top athletes, Kerby Bentley spent two years as an assistant coach before taking over the reins as head coach of the men’s program for three years. He directed the Knights to two OCAA Championship finals where they captured a gold and silver medal and continued their streak of five consecutive OCAA Western Region titles. Under his direction the Knights accumulated an impressive record of 34 wins and 10 losses which included league and playoff matches in the OCAA. Bentley’s player accomplishments are many. He was a two-time member of the OCAA Western Region team All-Stars, Niagara College Male Athlete of the Year, Canadian Colleges Athletics Association volleyball player of the month, OCAA Player of the week and led his team in scoring in 1988/89 with 210 points. In his final year he helped lead the Knights to their first ever OCAA Championship gold Medal and Western Region title as well as fourth at the CCAA national championships. In 2000 he was presented with the President’s Appreciation Award recognizing his outstanding contribution to the men’s volleyball program.
